prof. Danica Železnik, RN, MSc, PhD

Danica Železnik, PhD is a tenured professor for the subject areas Health sciences and Gerontology. She finished her specialisation in Gerontology and Rehabilitation at the Deaconal University College, Lovisenberg in Oslo Norway and her PhD in Health sciences on the University of Oulu, Faculty of Medicine, Finland. She started her career at the UKC Maribor at the orthopaedic and pulmonary department, where she worked for over twenty years. She acted as vice-dean for education, at FZV, University of Maribor, for twelve years. Since 2009 she is dean of Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec. For her work she has received numerous prizes and awards. She is a member of the Medical Ethics committee of the Republic of Slovenia and an expert for evaluating higher education institutions and study programs at the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education SQAA.
