With the second-level Health Sciences program, we adapted to demographic changes that bring many challenges and new conditions in the EU countries. New, additional skills, new paradigms are needed, with the promotion of health, nursing care and physiotherapy, therefore, the number of graduates of the second level in the field of health sciences must be increased, and in this way the system of education in Slovenia should be upgraded.
The content of the study is designed in such a way that the student, in the framework of compulsory subjects, upgrades basic knowledge in the field of methods of research work, with an emphasis on qualitative research methods, which are then applied in a particular case in the course of elective subjects and the master's thesis. By completing the two-year secondary education, the graduate will be equipped with additional special skills and competences useful in the immediate clinical environment, which will usefully contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality in the field of health and social sciences.
The graduate will be capable of actively engaging in socio-political life, capable of delivering expert opinions and co-decision on issues related to the preservation and return of health, disease prevention and rehabilitation, and will be trained to critically assess and introduce new scientific and scientific knowledge in the field of health in everyday practice. Thus, our graduate will become equal to European experts in this field.
